Polished Bronze vs Bronze Detail

First read the exact item name: Polished Bronze and Bronze Detail are different materials with different blockers. The demo’s progression boundary is the most common reason Polished Bronze never appears.

Full-release recipe: Woodworking Workbench, not the anvil

Source review: October 16, 2026; community database, not a site playtest. The Polished Bronze record lists 2 Bronze Detail + 2 Sand + 1 Melted Fat → 2 Polished Bronze at Woodworking Workbench I or II with a Tool Rack, requiring Building mastery 5. Its linked Bronze Polishing technology is in Metallurgy, follows Bronze Forge, and costs 30 red tech points.

The bucket belongs to the ingredient step: the Bronze Detail record lists 1 Bronze Ingot → 6 Bronze Detail at an anvil with a Hardening Bucket, unlocked by Bronze Craft. A bucket beside an anvil does not turn that station into the Polished Bronze workbench. These pages are one community source family, not independent game tests; their installed game build is not established by this review.

Correction to the older introduction: the demo cap explains the historical demo reports below. There is no frequency evidence for calling it the “most common” cause, and it is not an explanation for a missing full-release recipe. For the listed release recipe, distinguish the Bronze Polishing unlock, the workbench's Tool Rack, and Building mastery 5. This review does not establish every story gate or current console variation.

POLISHED BRONZE

Not available in the demo

Multiple community answers report that its technology sits beyond the demo’s progression cap. A missing recipe in the demo does not mean your save is broken.

BRONZE DETAIL

A different craft

Players report making Bronze Detail at the Wooden Anvil with a nearby Hardening or Quenching Bucket. The workstation areas need to overlap.

EVIDENCE LEVEL

Community troubleshooting

These steps come from player discussions, not an official recipe database. The release recipe above is a community database record; the older station-placement advice below comes from player reports.

Historical demo question: why was Polished Bronze missing?

If you are playing the Graveyard Keeper 2 demo, stop searching the visible technology tree for a hidden recipe. Players asking the same question were told that the relevant technology is outside the demo. That answer is limited to the demo; the full-release recipe and its named requirements are above.

Do not substitute a guess: Bronze Detail is not the same item as Polished Bronze. A quest or repair request that names one does not accept the other merely because both contain “Bronze.”

How to make Bronze Detail

Community reports describe a two-station setup rather than a recipe at the bucket itself:

  1. Unlock and build the Wooden Anvil.
  2. Build the nearby support station called a Hardening Bucket or Quenching Bucket in player reports.
  3. Place the bucket close enough that its working area overlaps the Wooden Anvil.
  4. Open the Wooden Anvil recipe list and look for Bronze Detail.

Player-reported Bronze Detail setup: the nearby support bucket's working area should overlap the Wooden Anvil. This is a troubleshooting diagram, not an official in-game map.

Because the available discussions use both “Hardening” and “Quenching” for the support bucket, this guide preserves that naming difference instead of declaring one universal English label. Check the wording in your current build and language.

Still blocked? Use this decision path

  1. Read the requested item again. Confirm whether it says Polished Bronze or Bronze Detail.
  2. Check the build. If it is the demo and the item is Polished Bronze, you have reached a content boundary rather than a workstation puzzle.
  3. Check the station. Bronze Detail is reported at the Wooden Anvil—not as a direct craft at the bucket.
  4. Check placement. Move the support bucket closer until its area overlaps the anvil, then reopen the recipe menu.
  5. Check progression. If the recipe remains absent in the full game, verify the relevant technology is unlocked. Community reports of missing Polished Bronze point to a later technology rather than an alternate early recipe.
  6. Rule out stale state. Save, return to the title screen, reload, and re-check the anvil after changing station placement.

Does the demo save transfer fix this?

The developer confirms that demo progress transfers into the full game. Transfer preserves your progress; it does not retroactively expose content inside the demo. In the full game, use the release recipe above; transferring a save alone does not research Bronze Polishing or add a Tool Rack.
