Graveyard Keeper 2 Dynamite and Alcohol

Launch-week player answers place Dynamite in the Anatomy and Alchemy technology branch — top row, just before Reanimation Liquid and above Crematorium 2 / Corpse Pallet 2. If you only need to open the mine, talk to Larry (the skull) in your house first: one quest reportedly hands you a free dynamite. The checks below cover the remaining recipe-visibility, ingredient, and blast-target problems.

GUIDE REVIEWED: SEPTEMBER 26, 2026EVIDENCE: CURRENT PLAYER REPORTSSTATUS: UNLOCK REPORTED — VERIFY IN YOUR BUILD

Where Dynamite unlocks

  1. Open the Anatomy and Alchemy branch. One player answer places Dynamite on the top row of that tree, just before Reanimation Liquid and above Crematorium 2 / Corpse Pallet 2.
  2. Ask Larry first if the mine is the target. Another reply reports one free dynamite from a Larry quest — talk to the skull in your house and tell him to help.
  3. If the node is missing, progress the quests. A third player reports the technology may not appear on the tree until the free-dynamite quest is done; treat that as a report to verify against your tree, not a rule.
  4. Explosion powder is a weaker lead. One player reports getting it from ingredient experiments with roughly two red and two blue components — a single, hedged memory. Check the live Alchemy UI before spending rare ingredients, and see the Alchemy research loop.

Reported blast-site problems

  • Lock-in-place at a mine entrance: one report describes the player becoming stuck after placing dynamite at a blocked iron-mine entrance. The reporter’s own edit says a same-day patch fixed it — update your game before blasting (Update 1.006 is the current patch at review time).
  • Freezing on blast: a separate report describes the game freezing when trying to blow the mine entrance. No official acknowledgment appears in the reviewed patch notes; if it recurs, reload an earlier save and report it.
  • Use Dynamite only at an explicit interaction. Do not discard, sell, or attempt unsupported placement with a quest item.

First identify which blocker you have

Dynamite objective

Confirm whether the quest wants Dynamite as an item, wants an obstruction cleared, or first expects another conversation. Similar wording can point to different steps.

Alcohol ingredient

Check whether “Alcohol” is an ingredient name in the current recipe or merely a category players use informally. Match the capitalization and icon shown in your UI.

Recipe absent

Check the reported Larry quest and the Anatomy and Alchemy branch before collecting speculative ingredients — one player reports the node appears only after that progression.

Recipe visible but blocked

Compare station, ingredient form, quantity, energy or other displayed requirement, and available output space.

Dynamite recipe at the Formulation Bench

2 Explosive Dust + 1 Alcohol → 1 Dynamite. The community bench database lists Dynamite technology, Anatomy mastery 5, 8 ticks, and 2 energy per tick. A separate player discussion reports that recipe after unlocking the technology. Build the Formulation Bench if needed; the Larry quest reports above concern progression, not a different station.

Explosive Dust is the database ingredient name. The older “explosion powder” memory above is only a gathering lead; it does not establish a reliable rune formula.

How to get Explosive Dust before making Dynamite

Mix Heart ★★★ + Clay in Laboratory I or II. The extracted Explosive Dust record lists this two-ingredient example, with a target of 2 red + 0 green + 2 blue runes. Heart ★★★ + Sand is another listed example. Study the ingredients first, match the exact heart quality and rune display, and check the result preview before mixing; an arbitrary heart is not a substitute.

  1. Check the Dynamite technology in Anatomy and alchemy. The extracted node requires Battle Potions II, costs 30 red + 30 green tech points, is hidden until its condition is met, and lists Explosive Dust under Alchemy. These point costs are not ingredient runes; the full reveal trigger is not supplied by that node.
  2. Use a Laboratory for the rune mix, not the Formulation Bench. The database does not establish the mix's batch output or current-build runtime costs, so use the quantity shown in your game rather than assuming one mix supplies two dust.
  3. Once you have 2 Explosive Dust, take it with 1 Alcohol to the Formulation Bench recipe above. Making dust and assembling Dynamite are separate operations.

Already inside the Old Mine? The same item record lists 2 Explosive Dust in a Simple Chest in Old Mine. It does not locate the chest within the mine or establish access before the entrance is cleared, so do not rely on that chest to open your first blocked entrance; check Larry's free-Dynamite quest above instead.

Historical game-data extraction, not an independent gameplay playtest. The item page and mixing calculator share the same database upstream; agreement is not separate reproduction. Exact platform/patch mapping, full mine-chest access route, and batch yield remain unverified.

If Alcohol is the missing part

Use a Distillation Cube, not a Laboratory mixing experiment. The community distillation database lists two Alcohol recipes, both unlocked by Reanimation Liquid and requiring Anatomy mastery 3:

  • 1 Wine (any quality) + 2 Clay Urn + 20 Fuel units → 4 Alcohol.
  • 1 Beer + 2 Clay Urn + 20 Fuel units → 2 Alcohol.

20 Fuel means fuel units, not 20 pieces of Coal. Check the cube's fuel meter and accepted fuel in your build. Both records list 8 ticks and run on their own once started. If the operation is missing, check Reanimation Liquid before buying more drink.

Recipes reviewed October 17, 2026: extracted community data plus the separate Dynamite player report, not official current-build playtesting. Base ticks are not seconds; the fuel recipe does not settle fuel rules for Laboratory rune mixing.

If Dynamite does not appear or work

  • Confirm the quest step has advanced after the preceding dialogue or construction.
  • Check whether the technology is unlocked but the correct station has not been built.
  • Move required components from specialized bags into accessible inventory if the UI does not count them.
  • Clear output space at the station.
  • At the target, look for a dedicated interaction rather than assuming free placement.
  • If the target remains inactive, leave the Dynamite intact and recheck the quest log before treating it as a bug.

Confirmed observation vs inference

Confirmed in your save: quest wording, visible technology, station name, displayed recipe, listed ingredients, and a target interaction. Inference: an ingredient location, recipe quantity, NPC schedule, or blast target copied from another version without matching UI evidence.

What to check in your game: The technology-tree position, free Larry dynamite, and blast-site issues remain player reports, not official documentation. The quantities above have community-database support, not a current-build site playtest; technology purchase costs and NPC schedules are not established here.

Use Alchemy research when the blocker is an unidentified formula, the Formulation Bench guide for that station, and the Assembly Bench checklist when a component recipe is missing.
