Graveyard Keeper 2 Assembly Bench Guide

If the Assembly Bench or its recipe is missing, check quest progression, technology, the correct build zone, construction requirements, and recipe prerequisites separately. Release-build player discussions can help identify where to look, but they are not an official workstation manual.

Factory Assembly bench: unlocks, construction, and recipes

The cached building data, technology table, and Assembly bench I catalogue describe the Factory stations below. These are game-data references, not an official current-build manual. The pre-placed prologue Assembly bench in Jack's Workshop is a separate, out-of-reach station, not the one to construct for factory orders.

  • Assembly bench I: the Building technology “Assembly bench” costs 75 red + 20 blue and requires Conveyors; construction requires 6 Reinforced Plank + 4 Bronze Gear + 4 Bronze Detail.
  • Assembly bench II: its technology costs 110 red + 20 blue; construction requires 6 Reinforced Beam + 8 Bronze Gear + 6 Advanced Detail.
  • Assembly bench III: its technology costs 150 red + 30 blue; construction requires 6 Wooden Joint + 12 Steel Screws + 4 Engineering Details.

Individual products still need their own technology. The following database examples explain why a built bench can have missing or blocked operations. Evidence reviewed October 17, 2026: the Assembly bench technology and Assembly bench I catalogue are community-maintained Wikily records (NX Software; individual editors and game version unspecified), not official 1.010 documentation or independent in-game tests. Cached GK2DB and GraveyardKeeper2.io records may share an underlying dataset; different domains do not establish independent confirmation.

  • Stone Kit at I: 2 Stone → 1 Stone Kit; Assembly bench unlock; Building mastery 2; no attachment listed; 8 ticks, 2 energy per tick.
  • Supply: Iron at I: 8 Iron Ingot → 1 package; Building mastery 2; 10 ticks, 2 energy per tick. See order packing and collection.
  • Fabric at I: 16 Flax → 1 Fabric; Fabric (Building) unlock; Spinning wheel attachment; Building mastery 4; 8 ticks, 2 energy per tick.
  • Zombie Mechanism at II: 1 Engineering Kit + 1 Zombie Power → 1 Zombie Mechanism; Zombie Mechanisms unlock; Lathe attachment; Building mastery 7; 6 ticks, 2 energy per tick. Zombie Power is an ingredient, not factory electrical power.

Recipe-specific attachments and mastery: worked examples

Compare the selected recipe, not a single skill requirement for the whole bench. These are base recipe quantities from the Assembly bench I catalogue and Assembly bench II catalogue; talent or quality bonuses and current-build output have not been tested here.

  • Wooden Kit I, bench I: 1 Log + 4 Bronze Nails → 4 Wooden Kit I; Assembly bench technology; Building 2; no attachment listed.
  • Alternate Wooden Kit I, bench I: 1 Log → 4 Wooden Kit I; Wooden Kit I technology; Building 3; Auto-hammer. This is a different recipe, not permission to omit nails from the basic recipe.
  • Crate, bench I: 1 Wooden Kit I + 1 Iron Kit I → 2 Crate; Crate technology; Building 3; no attachment listed.
  • Building Kit I, bench I: 1 Stone Kit + 1 Brick → 1 Building Kit I; Building Kit I technology; Building 5; Auto-hammer.
  • Wooden Kit II, bench II: 1 Special Wood → 3 Wooden Kit II; Wooden Kit II technology; Building 7; Drill press. Ordinary logs are not this recipe's input.

Ticks are work units, not seconds. “Energy per tick” is a recipe field, not a machine's factory-power draw. The zombie rules say workers use no energy and can silently stop for inadequate mastery or a missing tool; the listed costs do not establish wall-clock throughput. Clear completed output before expecting the next item. For belts and storage, use the Factory layout guide.

Attachments have separate unlocks

  • Auto-hammer: Wooden Kit I technology in the reviewed station catalogue; 2 Bronze Gear + 6 Iron Detail + 2 Iron Ingot.
  • Drill press: Furniture Kit I; 2 Bronze Gear + 4 Iron Detail + 2 Wooden beam.
  • Lathe: Zombie Mechanisms; 4 Engineering Details + 8 Steel Screws + 2 Carved Wood.
  • Sewing machine: Clothes I; 4 Wooden Joint + 8 Steel Screws + 4 Engineering Details.
  • Spinning wheel: Fabric (Building) technology in the reviewed station catalogue; 2 Bronze Gear + 4 Wooden Plank + 4 Iron Nails.

The attachment records establish construction and unlocks, not a verified speed bonus or footprint. There is no source-backed universal placement-size table here. A release-build player report says the Keeper cannot personally craft at the factory bench, so use a zombie assignment as a troubleshooting step rather than assuming the unreachable prologue bench is your destination.

Idle bench: check recipe mastery, attachments, and the line

The older axe-in-hand community advice is not a reliable universal Assembly Bench requirement. The reviewed Assembly bench I and Assembly bench II records list Hands as the tool field. Check the worker's displayed Building mastery for the selected recipe (I examples span 2–5; II records span 2–7), then the required attachment and exact input. Do not buy an axe as a blanket fix or transfer a factory tool report to the kitchen.

  1. Missing recipe: confirm the Factory bench tier, its technology and the product technology; the prologue bench is separate.
  2. Recipe visible but blocked: build and connect its named attachment, not just its technology. Distinguish the basic and Auto-hammer Wooden Kit I recipes, for example, before replacing inputs.
  3. No processing: assign a zombie meeting the recipe's Building mastery, select one recipe, and observe exact inputs reaching the station on a short conveyor line.
  4. One batch then idle: clear previous output and inspect destination space, filters and unintended neighboring chest transfers. Use the factory connection checks before rebuilding everything.

An October 4 player discussion about recipe queues reports being unable to add a second product; replies do not establish whether that is intended. Start with one recipe and switch manually if needed. This is a diagnostic test, not an official queue restriction or a confirmed fix.

Unlock and build checklist

  1. Read the objective that sent you looking for the bench. Note whether it asks you to unlock, build, use, or collect something from the station.
  2. Inspect relevant technology branches. Look for the exact Assembly Bench label and any prerequisite nodes in your current tree.
  3. Check designated construction areas. A learned workstation may only appear in the build menu for an appropriate yard, basement, laboratory, or other work zone.
  4. Use the displayed material list. Similar components can have different processed forms; match both name and icon.
  5. Build the station with clearance. Leave enough access to interact and avoid blocking adjacent stations or chests.
  6. Open it after advancing the quest. If it is empty, recipe progression may still be incomplete even though construction is finished.

Bench exists, but the recipe does not

Quest gate

Return to the relevant NPC and exhaust current dialogue. Some objectives expose an operation only after the previous step is acknowledged.

Technology gate

Check connected nodes, not just whether the physical bench is available. Building a station does not prove every recipe is unlocked.

Research or formula gate

If the item uses runes, unknown ingredients, or a discovered formula, follow the Alchemy research loop rather than guessing a combination.

Inventory gate

Move test ingredients into accessible inventory and compare the recipe display. A specialized bag may affect what a quest or station recognizes.

Assembly Bench not working

  • Confirm you are interacting with the Assembly Bench, not the Formulation Bench, Writing Desk, or similarly placed station.
  • Read any mastery, energy, ingredient, tool, or quest requirement displayed by the current UI.
  • Check that station output has room and that no neighboring object blocks access.
  • Test one visible recipe with exact listed inputs before diagnosing the entire station.
  • If an operation fails, record what changed and what did not; do not claim a universal bug from one blocked quest state.

Blue Crystal boundary

Players searching for the Assembly Bench also search for Blue Crystal, but the assembly examples above do not require it. The Blue Crystal and collar route belongs to zombie preparation: each listed collar uses one crystal at the Jewelry Table. That database-backed route is not an official universal Assembly Bench prerequisite; follow the exact quest and recipe text visible in your build.

If a player-reported route names Blue Crystal, verify the source, patch, station, and objective before spending or discarding anything. A shared search term is not proof of a mechanic.

What to check in your game: The selected factory unlocks, bills, recipes and linked collar route have community database support, not official current-build confirmation or independent game testing. Attachment speed bonuses, precise footprints, and a certain bug fix remain unverified. The community discovery links below are not official documentation.

Which workstation do you need?

Use the Formulation Bench guide for formulation, teeth, and Hypno Device questions. Use Writing Desk and Sanity for writing tasks. For a Dynamite or Alcohol blocker, open the Dynamite and Alcohol checklist.

Jack’s Back in Business blocking factory progression? Use the specific town-gate battle answer before repeating sewer fights. For cemetery areas rather than production belts, use the graveyard layout checklist.
