Graveyard Keeper 2 Beehive Guide
Go west from the keeper's house, cross the broken bridge, and check the vineyard section — launch-week player reports place the beehives there, not in a free-build construction menu. The hives are found at a fixed spot after the unlock; if nothing interacts when you arrive, work through the quest, readiness, and inventory checks below.
Where the beehives are
- Cross the broken bridge west of the keeper's house. Two separate replies in one launch-week thread point to the same area: “west of the house, over the broken bridge” and “the vineyard section across the bridge from the keeper house.”
- Look for hives already placed in the vineyard. The reports describe finding the hives there after unlocking — not constructing them from the outdoor build menu. Searching construction zones first is the reported dead end.
- Tree saplings come from the merchant. One reply in the same thread reports that the merchant sells saplings only after you finish several of his quests.
- Verify in your own build. These are release-build player reports, not official documentation. The exact hive count, interactions, and outputs can change with patches, so treat what your UI shows at the vineyard as the source of truth.
Which failure does the source actually explain?
Unlocked but looking in construction menus: the September 22 questioner had already unlocked the hive. Two replies direct them west across the broken bridge to the vineyard. That supports changing location before assuming the unlock failed; it does not give a complete beekeeping quest or building recipe.
Merchant quests are about saplings: the vendor-level reply and the final reply's “several quests” answer the separate tree-sapling question in that thread. They do not identify a beehive NPC prerequisite. No hive-specific NPC, quest trigger, required repair sequence, or reason for a missing harvest prompt is established by those replies.
Already at the vineyard but cannot harvest: the reviewed thread does not report that failure or establish its cause. Record the installed build, hive interaction and any displayed requirement before spending repair materials or treating an invented timer as a fix. Neither a fixed production interval nor an inventory workaround has been verified here.
Source scope and next step
Source rechecked October 16, 2026. The two location replies are separate players in the same thread, not two independent walkthroughs. Use the west-of-house bridge and vineyard as the supported route; if that does not match your save, include the location, unlock state and platform when reporting a correction through Contact.
Need Beeswax rather than Honey?
Check the vineyard hive route above, then inspect the actual harvest and inventory for Beeswax. The extracted Beeswax item record lists gathering from a Beehive at 1–2 units. That is a historical database range, not a guaranteed harvest, a production timer or proof that every hive in every patch produces wax.
- Confirm the item name. Beeswax and Honey serve different recipes. A Honey pickup alone does not establish that your current interaction also supplied wax.
- For church crafting, check the candle recipe. The record links Beeswax to Simple Candle, Pretty Candle and Magnificent Candle. Compare the full station recipe and unlock in your save; this item listing alone does not give a complete candle construction route.
- For an alchemy task, match the whole formula. Beeswax is listed in alchemy combinations, but it is not a finished potion or fertilizer. Use the alchemy guide and Formulation Bench material checks instead of substituting it directly for an elixir.
If you cannot interact with the hive, the item record does not supply a repair, readiness or inventory fix. Do not spend materials against an invented timer. Record the prompt and active quest; the missing harvest conditions remain unresolved.
Reviewed October 23, 2026: community extracted-data build 4599483364566526977, not an independent gameplay test. The original location thread does not establish wax outputs; the range above comes only from the separately identified item record, with current-patch compatibility unknown.
Do not import old-game assumptions
Graveyard Keeper 2 can reuse familiar names while changing technology trees, locations, recipes, or outputs. A method from the first game is useful only as a search clue. It is not confirmation of the sequel’s materials, number of hives, honey rate, wax rate, or automation support.
Useful next checks
If the hive is part of a broader crop route, see Flax and farming troubleshooting. If you are trying to automate work, use the zombie worker hub. For crafting-station confusion, check the Assembly Bench guide.
Honey for Mead and selling the finished drink are separate tasks. For the player-reported later Bar buyer and its unknown requirements, see where to sell Mead.
